Bates - McDonald Vocational Endowed Scholarship

The Bates McDonald Endowed Scholarship was established to benefit students enrolled in a vocational or trades education pathway.

Robert E. Bates was a track team member at Centralia College the 1947-48 school year. He held the high school track record at that time. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and then became a member of the 104th Division Reserve Unit in Tumwater, and was a retired command sergeant major. He was also a member of the American Legion, Grant Hodge post No. 17.

Daniel and Anna McDonald left their estate to support vocational education at Centralia College.
