Owen C. and Estella Wicks Endowed Scholarship

Owen Wicks began teaching at Centralia Junior College in 1947, when the small college component was located in the old Centralia High School, a block away from the current college complex. He taught at the high school until the first college structure was erected where Kemp Hall is currently. Among his many experiences, the most dramatic for Mr. Wicks was the April 1949 earthquake in the 3-story brick high school building, which shook in many directions.
